Adverbily - The students will understand that an adverb of manner describes the action of a verb through student use of Total Physical Response (TPR). Although this lesson plan is designed for 4th grade, it could be something fun for upper grades as well.

Expository Writing - Human beings use hand-to-hand touch between individuals to convey a wide range of affective communication. This lesson uses examples of such communication as a springboard for practice in expository writing.
Figurative Language - This SIOP-based lesson plan is designed so that students identify and formulate literal and figurative descriptions of familiar objects.
Group Story - In this activity, students write creative stories in a round robin-type activity.
